Day 43 - Umbrell-tastic and hot springs

Where I got my thai massage from the other night. Right next door to the hotel. Worddd.
My brother for some reason wants to know what happened to my gpas finger. He is 90 years old, sooo i think it's alright for him to have imperfect fingernails.
We visited the place where they make umbrellas. Hand-made painted ones! They also do other painted objects. It was wonderful to see. I wish I could paint like them and be able to make near wooden objects.
There was an aisle of artists painting stuff. At first I wasn't keen on getting anything painted so I watched my sister pick out something for her ipod cover, then my brother for his psp case. My aunt got paul frank painted on her purse and the driver got a panda on his cell phone.

You can pick any of these on the boards that were out by the artists and they made some cool work.

As I was walking a lady said she could paint my backpack. But it already has a design, what? But she said on the side. Soooo why not? Now my TMNT backpack has swag on the side.

 HEY CUTIEEEEE.

This lady was making the wooden part of the umbrella. Putting the parts together.

 An assembly line. :O cool
The paper they paint on is even hand-made and dyed. I bought some for future design projects. They have imprints on them and were awesome! Hope they will make it back to the U.S

Hot springs time!
Pretty gardens

The sign says "danger,  105 degrees"
The water bath right there smelled like eggs, because you can buy eggs from the shop and boil them to your liking.

 SUPERRRR HOT springs.
Free to public and you can dip your feet in here. I dont know how the japanese next to us were able to because it was boiling hot. My dad spoke to these 2 foreign girls from holland. They were nice and I kinda creeped a photo in.

Sooo across from the hot springs is a mineral swimming pool. Unfortunately I didnt really bring a suit. So my sister and I settled for the mineral baths. My sister eventually kicked me out and made me move into my own bath because I love my baths boiling hot and she likes it lukewarm.

 Then we ate fooddddddd.

 anddd visited another temple somewhere

Visited some random food market with tons of food packages everywhere. omfg. We got some moo-yaw (in my previous post, it is on a stick) but this was in a package, ready for us to eat back in the U.S

My brother likes his new hat, bought from the Umbrella place. My aunts bought some and my brother got his hat. It folds together like a fan, making it super portable.

At night, we visited a night market. Woot woot. I bought a light for a friend and we waited at burger king for my sister's friend. A friend from high school who lives here in Changmai. She drove so she came over here. She said she's never beent ot he night market which I can see why because everything was higher priced than bangkok at a lot of the littler vendors. All geared towards the big tourism and farangs (foreigners).
